      Get to know Deven Song

      Mr. Deven Song is a professional educator, and performer. He is currently working for Fairfax County Public Schools as an educator and performing with Fairfax Wind Symphony. Mr. Song has previously performed with Capital Wind Symphony and Herndon Regional Wind Ensemble. He has been an educator for FCPS with serving the following positions: Clarinet Instructor, Instructional Assistant, Learning Disabilities Teacher, and Music Teacher. He enjoys an active career as an educator and freelance professional musician. Mr. Song earned a Master of Music in Clarinet Performance under the tutelage of Gregory Smith, a Clarinetist with Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and Carol Lee Smith, at Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University and studied with Dr. Janice Minor at JMU where he earned a Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Education. Mr. Song is also a T.B.I. (Traumatic Brain Injury) survivor from his accident in 2014 and the power of music assisted him with his recovery.
