About Dj Eisenhart

D.J. Eisenhart has been in music education for over 20 years. The past 8 years he taught at Brazoswood High School where he served as the Director of Bands. Other districts inckude Sheldon I.S.D, Cameron I.S.D. and Keller I.S.D. 

Mr. Eisenhart holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from the University of North Texas. He has served as the TMEA Region Jazz coordinator for both Region 8 and 17 and is an active clinician and performer throughout the state. D.J. is a standing member of the Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, and Texas Jazz Educators Association.  

While under the direction of D.J. Eisenhart, his bands have consistently received division 1’s at UIL and superior ratings at statewide contests. The Brazoswood High School P.M. Jazz Ensemble, under his direction, has participated in multiple jazz festivals, consistently placing first in competition. Each year, members of this group receive outstanding solo, section, and scholarship awards. In 2019, the P.M Jazz Ensemble was named a national winner in the Mark of Excellence, national jazz honors contest and In 2021 was named the TMEA Invited High School Jazz Ensemble.  Many of Mr. Eisenhart’s students have gone on to major colleges to study music.  Several of these students are now professional musicians and educators throughout the state.  

As a performer, D.J. has been a member of the Grammy nominated University of North Texas Lab Bands, The Dallas Jazz Orchestra, the Galen Jeter Orchestra, the San Angelo State Symphony, the Temple Jazz Orchestra, the Kingwood Big Band, and currently the Brazosport Big Band and Brazosport Jazz Orchestra. Mr. Eisenhart continues to perform at multiple events and venues throughout the state.  He has had the tremendous honor of sharing the stage with such notable performers as Wynton Marsalis, Eddie Daniels, Michael Brecker, Randy Brecker, Gordon Goodwin, Joe Gallardo, Michael Philip Mossman, Patty Austin, Paul Shaffer, and Eric Marienthal.
