Performance Experience: Numerous professional piano performance jobs and music directing for Opera and Musical Theatre in NYC, NJ, and PA, including currently pianist in Capital Philharmonic of NJ, Southeastern PA Symphony Orchestra, and pit keyboardist for Musical Theatre productions at Plays in The Park in Edison, NJ.

Teaching Philosophy: Positive and encouraging to all, regardless of age or level. I stress the importance of learning to be a good sight reader, which opens up worlds of music. The musician can read sheet music and learn pieces quickly once sight reading skills are developed.

Don Tenenblatt, with over 30 years of teaching and performing experience, has been teaching piano & voice at Music & Arts since 2006. Don holds degrees in Music from Yale and Rutgers. As a composer and lyricist, he was a member of the BMI Musical Theatre Workshop in NYC. He has played piano and/or music directed for numerous Dance, Opera, and Musical Theatre Productions in NYC, NJ, and PA including PA Ballet and Opera Theatre at TCNJ. He currently is pianist for Capital Philharmonic of NJ that performs at War Memorial in Trenton.
