Get to know Dylan Schuman
Dylan Schuman is an accomplished trumpeter and brass instructor based in Baltimore, Maryland. Dylan taught his first trumpet lesson while he was a senior in high school and has not stopped since. With a Bachelor’s in music performance and a Masters in music education, Dylan has dedicated his life to the art of music.
Dylan has been a music educator in Metro Nashville Public Schools and Baltimore City Public Schools where he taught concert band, rock band, jazz band, piano, and general music. In addition to his public school experience, Dylan has also supported students with their love of music through the Litchfield Jazz Camp, Baltimore Symphony sponsored Orchkids, and Camp Davis. He has also taught private lessons at Menchey Music Service (Timonium + Westminster), Music and Arts (Ellicott City + Greenbelt + Crofton), ART-IST Music Center, and out of his home in Baltimore.
Dylan loves composing/creating and is releasing his 8th album in December 2024. His projects and music groups have varied in size and shape. Dylan is the director and founder of the 19-piece Screaming Art Large Ensemble. The compositions are all his original pieces, which include elements of swing, improvisation, chamber, spoken word, and rock sounds. The ensemble released their debut album “The Chronicles of Aryeh” in 2019, for which Dylan was awarded the Maryland State Arts Council Individual Artist Award for composition.
Dylan strives to continually develop his educational pedagogy and musical skill set and looks forward to sharing his passion for music with you!
