About Elizabeth McHatton

My name is Elizabeth McHatton and I have been teaching flute with Music and Arts for 10 years. I am currently the band director at Manchester Middle School in Chesterfield County.  I graduated from VCU with a degree in Music Education and have a Master of Music degree as well. I had the pleasure of studying flute with Mrs. Francile Bilyeu.  I have been a teacher in Chesterfield County for 16 years and I have taught at all levels of music education, primarily middle school. With my knowledge as a middle school band director, I am very comfortable with helping beginning band students navigate their new instrument as well. as help a more advanced flute student prepare for auditions for district band, all-state band, college, etc. or achieve goals beyond that of the classroom. I enjoy working all music students and sharing with them the knowledge and experience I have gained since beginning flute in middle school and learning additional instruments throughout my career. I customize lessons to a students needs and goals. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and travel. We frequently camp at local state parks and we look forward to our next big adventure.
