About Emily Bell
Get to know Emily Bell
I have a B.A. in Music and a Minor in Philosophy from SIUE. I taught piano for 8 years at American School of Music in Florissant, MO and a year and a half at Musician's Connection in Florissant, MO before coming to Music and Arts. I taught beginning voice for 2+ years.
I have taught ages 3 to 72, beginner to early advanced. I will teach anyone who wants to learn. I think anyone can gain something from studying music.
I have a strong gift of sight-reading music, and I teach my students the importance of being able to read music as well.
Since August of 2019, I have been a teacher's assistant in the special education classroom, 3rd and 4th grade. I have tutored high school and college, all subjects for 3+ years. I have experience teaching children whom have disabilities such as ADHD.
I have coached high school solo and ensemble students from regionals to state as well as accompanied them. I have also accompanied church choirs, the Variety Kids Choir (a charity for kids with mental and physical disabilities), college choir (SIUE), the American School of Music students at recitals, pit orchestras for plays, and I've played with my fellow teachers at recitals and gigs.
