Teaching Philosophy:
Emily believes in creating a safe space for her students to make mistakes, learn from them and grow into stronger musicians. She encourages all of her students to listen carefully to their voices and sing using their whole body. The voice is a vulnerable instrument to learn so she aims to create personal relationships with her students built on mutual trust. She places a strong focus on teaching theory to all of her singers in order for them to be well rounded musicians.

Get to know Emily Evans
Emily Evans is a classically trained soprano originally from Chicago, Illinois where she earned her Masters of Music in Vocal Performance from DePaul University.
She has been teaching vocal lessons for the past 9 years both in person and online. In addition to private lessons she served as an adjunct vocal professor at The University of Dayton, and a K-5 elementary school music teacher in the school system in California. She has extensive experience performing and teaching opera and musical theater and loves to teach her students music theory to ensure they are well-rounded musicians.
