Performance Experience:
I started performing in Middle and High school Concert and Jazz Ensembles. At University, I performed with the Rowan University Jazz Band under Dennis Diblasio, as well as small Jazz groups. During my time at Rowan I also joined a blues rock band, and we still perform in venues across the tri-state area and have opened for various notable artists.
Teaching Experience:
I taught guitar for a freelance music lessons company while I was at away at school.
Teaching Philosophy:
I spent many years as a student of music, starting guitar lessons myself at 8 years old. I have studied with dozens of different instructors and guitar teachers, some that I will take with me for a lifetime. It is my goal as a teacher at Music & Arts to take the best from every style of teaching that I experienced as a student, and pass it on to the next wave of excited new players. This comes with a perfect balance of theory, technique, improvisation, and most of all having fun playing music.

Ethan Garcia is a guitarist, composer, and music educator with a Bachelor's degree in Music Composition from Rowan University, where he studied classical and jazz guitar. Lessons are tailored to each student's goals and interests, making learning both enjoyable and rewarding. Instruction covers a wide range of styles, including classical, jazz, blues, rock, folk, and more. Lessons are focused on building strong technique, fretboard knowledge, ear training, and musicianship. The goal is to help every student grow into a confident, well-rounded musician with a lasting love for music.
