About Fred Jacobowitz
Fred Jacobowitz
Music Teacher, Master
Location: Garner, NC
Speaks: English
Instructs: Clarinet, Flute, Saxophone
Education: Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Music Performance (clarinet major) from the Juilliard School. Doctoral work (ABD) at Peabody Institute.
Performance Experience: I play many different styles of music, from Classical to Rock to Jazz to Folk/Ethnic (including Klezmer).
Teaching Experience: I have been teaching music lessons for almost 40 years.
Teaching Philosophy: I have no set rate at which a student should learn - I allow them all to move at their own pace. I believe music should be FUN, not a chore. I believe that humans are hard-wired for sound, so everyone can learn music (some having a greater aptitude than others, just like in any Human endeavor!). I live for that "aha" moment when the student 'gets it'.
