About George Stone

Education: 3 years private study - classical guitar, 8 years private study - jazz guitar, numerous workshops, ensemble classes attended since 1980.

Performance Experience: Professional musician. More than 800 solo & ensemble performances over past 15 years.

Teaching Experience: Private guitar teacher since 2004, Class guitar instructor at South Seattle Community College from November 2007 through June 2011

Teaching Philosophy: A student can expect to learn the technical aspects of playing the guitar, but also, the skills needed for music in general regardless of the instrument. My goal is to prepare students to be able to participate in the best musical opportunities available whether that be developing the skills needed to excel in school or outside music programs, or just learning to play great songs on the guitar. Advanced students can expect to learn skills helpful to move forward as musicians and performers.
