About Gilbert
Get to know Gilbert
With a dad who was a touring guitarist in the 70's-90's and a mom who took me to every major rock concert
when I was growing up, it was no surprise that music became a part of my identity and something I wanted to
share with people. My most recent professional activity before joining the Music & Arts team was co-owning
a studio with a healthy student base ranging from ages 4 to 70+ teaching a variety of musical styles in Guitar,
Drumset, Bass, Marching Percussion, Songwriting, and Theory, as well as helping some students prepare for
auditions for other music programs, church bands or performances of their own!
My biggest musical accomplishment was performing in Carnegie Hall in NYC as a percussionist, by
coincidence that performance landed on my 18th birthday! My academic music programs allowed me to
have a variety of experiences and performances with drumlines, jazz bands, musicals, full orchestras, and
other ensembles. My focus in recent years has been songwriting and producing my own music, I love just
about any genre but I always find myself going back to Rock, Prog, Punk, old school Hip Hop, Jazz, Metal, and
scores from Films, TV, and Videogames.
I hope to meet you soon! \m/
