Education:
My early music education was through Peabody Preparatory, where I studied under Phylis Freeman and others. Once I started high school, I began studying under Klara Berkovich. I attended Towson University, where I studied under Dr Zoltan Szabo. I am Suzuki certified.
Performance Experience:
I performed in many local youth orchestras through middle and high school. I have also performed in the orchestra pit for local musical productions. Currently I play in several local duos and bands, including Andy Bopp and the Strung Out, The Kata Hay band, and Atomic Light Orchestra (Electric Light Orchestra Tribute).
Teaching Experience:
I have taught at various local schools and from my home studio for more than 20 years. I am excited to be a part of the Music and Arts family!
Teaching Philosophy:
I grew up learning how to play classically. Through the years, I have been offered some great opportunities to expand out of my classical box, and Im so glad I took advantage of those opportunities. Though I believe strongly in the foundations of classical technique, I love to see my students playing music they want to play. I encourage students to find music that they want to learn in addition to our basic curriculum so that lessons feel personalized and students become well rounded players.

Hello! My name is Greta. I have been teaching violin for close to 20 years, and there is nothing I love more than watching it start to click with my students as they realize they they are really making music happen! I am happy to work with students of all ages and abilities.
