About Harry Mulligan
Get to know Harry Mulligan
After hearing Peter in the Wolf in concert as a child, I loved the sound of the oboe and never looked back. In elementary school, I chose to learn the Oboe, still playing for over 2 decades. I learned to play saxophone to join the jazz band a few years later. I learned from amazing teachers who helped me write and arrange music, perform in concerts, and major in Music Education. With that came the skill of making my own Oboe reeds, joining the University Marching Band , and learning a slew of other woodwind instruments. This passion has taken me amazing places, and given me some of my closes friends and wisest teachers. I strive to open this world up to my students, and their families, beyond simply teaching how to read or play music. I share more than just my knowledge, or mastery of skills for the sake of self-confidence. It's an understanding of the word, experienced by strengthening our bond with the music itself, and the musicians we meet along the way.
When I'm not making music, I could be juggling, running, journaling about a variety of topics, or playing video games.
