Get to know Harry Pellegrin
Since his Manhattan debut recital in 1980, he has performed in New York, Tulsa, St. Louis, Charleston and other cities in the US and Canada.
Pellegrin wrote for Soundboard Magazine before publishing a novel Low End in 2003. Classic Guitar Method, now in its sixth edition, combined Pellegrin’s writing skills with his musical expertise. In May 2008 The Guitar, his first CD was released. 2010 yielded another CD, Old and New. His latest CD, Introspect, consists entirely of Pellegrin’s compositions—eleven brief waltzes and four longer works. Mel Bay Publications has published the score: Introspect (catalog number 30602M).
Pellegrin studied classical guitar performance and composition at The Mannes College of Music; where he studied with Albert Blain and Eliot Fisk, and has performed in master classes with John
Duarte, Ben Verdery and David Russell.
From 2008 until 2022 he taught guitar as an affiliate artist at Union College in Schenectady. He is a board member of the CGSUNY since 2012 and has served as its vice president and is an artist member of the Monday Musical Club of Albany.
