Pellegrin studied classical guitar performance and composition at The Mannes College of Music (BA) where he studied with Albert Blain and Eliot Fisk, and has performed in master classes with John Duarte, Ben Verdery and David Russell.
Performance Experience:
Since his Manhattan debut recital in 1980, he has performed in New York, Tulsa, St. Louis, Charleston and other cities in the US and Canada. He has performed three times at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, The Hall of Springs, Saratoga, and many corporate events, gallery openings and recitals.
Teaching Experience:
43 years private instruction at home studio in New York City and then in the Capital District, as well as 13 years at Union College in Schenectady.
Teaching Philosophy:
I wish to create musicians not just guitarists.
Get to know Harry Pellegrin
Harry Pellegrin teaches beginner to advanced classical guitar and fingerstyle acoustic guitar, as well as beginner to intermediate electric bass and ukulele. His structured lessons develop well-rounded musicianship through technique, standard notation, theory, composition, and thoughtful practice. Harry teaches classical, rock, and contemporary Christian music, helping students develop the skills to perform confidently as soloists or ensemble musicians. He encourages participation in ensembles, open mics, and NYSSMA while also welcoming adults returning to music. Harry holds degrees in music theory and classical guitar performance and has extensive professional performance experience.
