Teaching Philosophy: I firmly believe that music is meant for everyone and anyone, regardless of the capacity in which it is enjoyed and appreciated. Everyone has a voice that needs to be heard, or the facilities to create and display rhythm through their bodies. You're never too old to explore this facet of life, and may even find it as a cathartic release or an outlet that you never knew you needed.
Get to know Isaiah Cornelius
Hi everyone! I’m Isaiah Cornelius and I’m a voice and piano teacher. I’m so excited to be a part of the Music & Arts team. I’m from Salisbury, NC where my journey with music began. I graduated from Wingate University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education. I teach choir at Lake Norman Charter Middle School and have played piano for years. Prior to working with Music & Arts, I was the Director of Music and part-time accompanist at Amity Presbyterian Church in Charlotte. I’m currently a graduate student in the Music Education program at the University of North Carolina in Greensboro, where I’m expected to graduate during the summer of 2026. I’m very involved with our state’s music educators association, where I serve as the Student Activities Coordinator for the Middle School Choral Board. I’m looking forward to working with you all and hope that you’re ready to embark on your own music journey.
