Education: BFA in Music Performance (Percussion) from Marshall University

Performance Experience: Performed with Marshall University’s Wind Symphony, Orchestra, Marching and Symphonic Bands, Percussion Ensemble, and African Drum and Dance. Featured soloist with MU Percussion Ensemble and member of chamber groups J-4tet and ECHO. Professional credits include Marietta Symphony, Marshall Artist Series, Greenbrier Christmas Cantata, and local productions of Annie and Little Women.

Teaching Experience: Taught marching percussion at middle school, high school, and collegiate level. Presented clinics for All-State percussionists, co-instructed masterclasses with the Marshall University percussion studio and ECHO Percussion at Marshall University.

Teaching Philosophy: Jackson's teaching philosophy reflects his inclusive knowledge of percussion instruments. He emphasizes proper technique and sharing that technique across all instruments. He also encourages curiosity regarding percussion and continual growth in the approach to the instrument.

Get to know Jackson Hall

Jackson Hall began playing percussion at a young age, starting with mallet percussion in his elementary school percussion ensemble. After this experience, he has never looked back and has been an active percussion educator, performer and adjudicator. He graduated from Marshall University in 2023, completing his B.F.A in Music Performance. He is currently pursuing an M.A. in Music History and Literature.

During his undergraduate years, he performed with many ensembles such as the Marshall Wind Symphony and the Marshall Percussion Ensemble. Jackson has also worked with several groups in the Tri-State Area, achieving success in competition. Currently, he is the Percussion Coordinator at Marshall University's Herd Beats and the Percussion Caption Head at Greenbrier East High School.

Jackson is currently a Salyers Percussion Education Team member.
