Get to know Jesse Cooper
Since 2015, Jesse has been guiding singers of all ages and experience levels toward vocal freedom and confidence, drawing from a strong foundation in classical technique, diverse performance experience, and a deep understanding of vocal pedagogy. With a Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance from Western Washington University and a Master’s degree from North Park University in Chicago, Jesse brings both academic training and real-world insight to every lesson.
As a performer, Jesse has sung as both a soloist and chorister for numerous churches throughout the Chicagoland area. Upcoming performances include featured roles in a Chicago opera scene night as Papageno (The Magic Flute), Iago (Otello), and the title role in Don Giovanni.
During graduate school, Jesse solidified their teaching approach through an intensive, two-year vocal pedagogy program. As part of this training, they maintained a private voice studio, preparing students for semesterly recitals, and served as a choral assistant—leading sectionals and supporting the administrative side of ensemble performance.
Jesse teaches classical, musical theatre, and pop styles, tailoring lessons to meet the individual needs and goals of each student. With a warm, encouraging approach and a strong commitment to healthy vocal technique, he empowers singers to grow in skill, artistry, and confidence.
