About Jim Brewster

Jim Brewster is a guitar, ukulele, and bass guitar teacher who creates supportive, goal-focused lessons tailored to each student’s interests and musical journey. He teaches beginner to advanced guitar and ukulele as well as beginner to intermediate bass guitar, helping students build confidence through practical technique, improvisation, theory, and ensemble skills. Jim specializes in folk, blues, rock, jazz, and popular music, encouraging students to explore music they enjoy while developing strong musical foundations. Lessons emphasize communication, creativity, and steady progress in a relaxed environment. Jim has over 45 years of experience playing stringed instruments and more than 10 years of teaching experience, performing with groups including Coastal Vibe, Kiva, and the Bardo Brothers.
