About John Gronert

John Gronert is a drum teacher who works with beginner to advanced students, creating energetic and engaging lessons that balance technique, musicianship, and fun. His instruction focuses on rudimental drumming, music reading, jazz improvisation, and a wide variety of styles including rock, jazz, Latin, concert band, and orchestral percussion. John believes every lesson should be positive, educational, and appropriately challenging, tailoring instruction to each student’s skill level while encouraging steady progress and confidence. He also works closely with students on school band materials and performance preparation. John holds both Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from the Manhattan School of Music, earned Elementary Dalcroze Certification, and studied jazz drumming with legendary educators Joe Morello and Sonny Igoe.
