Performance Experience:
Joseph is a multifaceted musician who performs in a variety of musical styles with groups such as The Temptations, Tucson Symphony Orchestra, Southern Arizona Symphony Orchestra, Tucson Pops Orchestra, Arizona Symphony Orchestra, and the Century Jazz Orchestra. Joseph also performs as a woodwind doubler, working with Arts Express Theater and Inner Voice Studios.
Teaching Experience:
Joseph has taught private woodwind lessons for 8 years working with students of all ages. In addition to woodwind lessons, Joseph has experience as the jazz piano instructor at the University of Arizona where he served as the graduate teaching assistant.
Joseph currently serves as an instructor and director at the Tucson Jazz Institute.
Teaching Philosophy:
My teaching philosophy is centered on developing critical thinking skills and independent students with strong fundamentals. My lesson plans are tailored to each individual and provide them with the skills to not only meet their goals but also to allow them to continue to grow their musicianship outside of our lessons.
Get to know Joseph Rader
Joseph is a longtime musician and educator who performs in a variety of musical styles with groups. Styles he's familiar with range from Classical to Jazz and more. His range of instrumental knowledge has allowed him to have a diverse background from which he can pull knowledge and experience to help students. In addition to performance, Joseph has taught for the better part of a decade at all levels of instruction.
