About Kai Breeden

Kai Breeden has been infatuated with music from a young age, beginning lessons as soon as he was old enough to hold an instrument. Originally from Westerville, he has always pursued many musical opportunities. In his youth, Kai participated in concert bands, symphony orchestras, pit orchestras, marching bands, and jazz bands. His first job as a teenager was teaching music theory at a local school. After graduation, he went on to attend Ohio Northern University, where he received a Bachelor’s degree of Fine Arts, specializing in Trumpet Performance under the tutelage of Dr. David Kosmyna. In addition to his required courses, Kai voluntarily enrolled in many education and pedagogy classes, directed a student-organized choir, and taught band camps in schools throughout Ohio. In his time at Ohio Northern, Kai performed in nearly every major ensemble offered at the school, regularly participated in local jazz jam sessions, and competed in the school’s triannual concerto competition, where he was awarded the opportunity to perform a trumpet concerto accompanied by the school’s symphony orchestra. Kai’s love for music has allowed him to develop a passionate, hands-on teaching style, and he strives to tailor his instruction to the individual need and learning styles of each student.
