About Karen Levan

"The art of teaching is the art of assisting discovery." – Mark Van Doren - American Scholar, Poet, and Writer

I have taught piano for more than 30 years, working with students from age four through adulthood. I hold a bachelor’s degree in music education with a concentration in piano from the Hartt School of Music.

I currently serve as music director at Avon Congregational Church, where I play the organ and piano for Sunday worship services and direct both the choir and handbell group.

Teaching piano is my passion. I believe everyone has music within them, and my role is to understand and guide each student as an individual so they feel comfortable learning and enjoy playing the piano.
