    • Get to know Kathryn Carley

      Kathryn Carley is a lifelong lover of music and is currently pursuing a Master of Music in Euphonium Performance at George Mason University. She is a recent graduate of the Eastman School of Music and the University of Rochester, where she earned bachelor’s degrees in Applied Music (Euphonium) and British and American Literature. Her primary teachers include Dr. Mark Jenkins, Dr. Justin Benavidez, Mark Kellogg, Dr. Matthew Murchison, and Dr. Sharon Huff.

      Kathryn has performed with the Eastman Wind Ensemble, Eastman Wind Orchestra, Brass Band of Northern Virginia, and the George Mason Wind Symphony. She is also a frequent soloist with the Brass Band of Central Illinois and the Taylorville Municipal Band.

      She was awarded second place in the Northeast Regional Tuba Euphonium Conference Solo Competition, won the 2024 Eastern Music Festival Mock Band Audition, and has been a two-time alternate for the International Falcone Festival.

      In her free time, Kathryn enjoys reading classic literature and creating fiber arts projects.
