Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Individualized Studies with a focus in music in 2019 from New Mexico State University
Masters in Cello Performance from Missouri State University in 2021.
Performance Experience:
Kendra has participated in large-scale performances at the Bay View Music Festival for the productions of Le Nozze di Figaro by Mozart and Carmen by Bizet, University Orchestras in undergrad and graduate school. Most recently, they performed in June 2024 as an alumni with the Missouri State University Orchestra at Carnegie Hall in New York City. They have also performed for many master classes given by cellists such as Lawrence Stomberg, Mark Kosower, among others.
Teaching Experience:
Kendra has taught privately for over 9 years. During that time, their students excelled, receiving a multitude of achievements and honors, including All-State, Regionals, and Honors at Solo & Ensemble festivals. They have experience with ensemble teaching as well, including summer camps and beginning orchestra classes. They have served as Orchestra Director for Zia Middle School in Las Cruces, NM, where the students achieved superior ratings.
Teaching Philosophy:
Their ultimate goal as a teacher is to create a love and appreciation of music in my students. In addition to developing their musical abilities, they want to equip their students with the necessary skills to continue their musical journey as they progress through life. They have a student first approach meaning students' passions and goals are considered in lessons, ensuring that they maintain engaged and excited to further their mastery on their instrument.

Kendra is a deep appreciator of all art forms and a dedicated advocate of the musical arts. They believe that all students should have access to music education. They help support this goal by spending their free time researching and advocating for their students to have access to proper education and materials to further their musical goals.
Kendra is new to the Southern Arizona area after spending the majority of their life in New Mexico. She enjoys performing with local musicians in a variety of settings including symphonies, string quartets, and as a soloist with choirs.
When not playing cello Kendra enjoys spending their free time hanging out with their dog Max, their cat Maybell, and cooking food.
