About Kevin Carlson

Kevin Carlson, Guitarist, began playing guitar at age 7, inspired by recordings of Chet Atkins, his focus on the guitar led him to graduate with a BMus in Classical Guitar and Theory/Composition from the University of Minnesota, and graduated with honors from Musicians Institute (GIT) in Los Angeles, CA. 

Kevin's love of music then led him to a career of playing guitar for church, teaching children to play and love guitar, and to share his gift through performing.

Over the years, Kevin has had a broad spectrum of performance experience. He currently enjoys playing with the Glendale Guitar Orchestra and with jazz guitar luminary Howard Alden. Kevin also put out his own recording (The Guitar Can Do it), available on Apple Music and Spotify. You can also see other performances at @kevincarlson6544 on YouTube. 

In 2024 Kevin was interviewed for an hour-long show on 94.7 FM Arizona Roots regarding his talents and guitar and musical knowledge.
