Get to know Kim
I am excited and honored to be joining the team at Music & Arts as a guitar and voice teacher. Prior to working with Music & Arts, I was an academic tutor, but am very happy to be teaching something I love even more than science and math. It is very rewarding for me to have the opportunity to share what I’ve learned over the years about music with others. Music has echoed in my ears since birth. My life experience is that I’ve always been an arm’s length away from a guitar or a radio. At age 10, I started practicing guitar, learning every song I could, and next thing I knew, I was facing hundreds of live shows ahead. I am fortunate to have had a childhood that was decorated with tunes by every member of my family. The diversity of their tastes and preferences with different genres was certainly informing, influential, and inspiring as a future musician. Over the years, I have performed hundreds of live shows, both solo, and with bands. While the band days were fun, I have enjoyed the solo aspect in recent years, and have performed at restaurants, veteran functions, festivals, and many assisted living centers. The motto of my solo show, years later, continues to be ‘something for everyone’.
