About Kylan Hillman

Kylan Hillman is a guitar, bass and piano instructor with over ten years of teaching experience. Originally from New Jersey, Kylan gained experience in the local rock and metal scenes as a teenager, playing in various bands and making a name for himself as a songwriter. Kylan went on to study music composition at Montclair State University where he earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees. He has taught at music schools across New Jersey and Pennsylvania and gigged with several cover bands playing top 40 and classic rock hits. He is currently pursuing his doctorate in composition at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University. Kylan takes a student-led approach to teaching by helping students identify their goals and then educates them on the appropriate tools and skill fundamentals they need to achieve their goals.
