About Lars Aarhus

Music has been an integral part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I'm incredibly grateful that I get to share this passion by teaching others, and allowing them to discover the fun that music can offer them. 

I started playing piano in first grade, then picked up guitar in middle school, and performed in numerous recitals and events across both instruments. In 2019, I graduated from DigiPen Institute of Technology with a degree in Music and Sound design, and my ultimate musical goal is to one day become a music composer for film, TV, and video games.

I enjoy playing and teaching an incredibly wide variety of styles, from jazz and pop to death metal and disco. I also really love teaching greater concepts of music theory, and the fundamentals of composition and improv.

I always put my student's goals first, and help them to learn to play the music they enjoy. However, I also feel it's vital to have a well-rounded curriculum, in order to make musicians who can be capable and confident in a wide variety of situations.

I love teaching, and being able to help students over a musical hurdle, or see them finally understand a difficult aspect of music theory is amazingly fulfilling. On top of that, it's also just nice to have more people to jam with!
