Get to know Larry Sigler

I am a classically trained musician with a BFA in Music Performance & a BFA in Music Education. My studies were done at Peabody Conservatory (preparatory division) in Baltimore, MD, and Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA. That being said, I cannot stress enough how much one learns and shapes their playing by all sources encountered, especially the musicians they have and will come in contact with.

My playing experience has spanned 25+ years in a variety of pop / rock / show band / theater / and jazz situations. Much of that time had been spent as a back-up musician for a variety of "name acts" including gigs with The Temptations, Four Tops, Gladys Knight (with & without The Pips), Jimmy Buffett, and Bowser's Rock & Roll Show as a member of Rocky & the Rollers, a group whose primary purpose was to back up numerous acts from the 50's and 60's including The Drifters, Coasters, Shirelles, Chuck Berry, and many more.

I have been teaching privately for much of that time and currently am prepared for the following situations:

- Saxophone: all levels

- Flute: beginning and intermediate

- Clarinet : beginning

- Music Theory & Improvisation: As it applies to one's instrument and level
