I held leadership roles in most of these ensembles and I believe that’s helped me shape the kind of instructor I am today.
Teaching Experience: When I was in high school I had been giving private flute lessons to my peers and middle school kids in my area. Which then ventured off into other instruments I knew how to play. I have taught just about any sub section of band you can think of, from percussion groups to marching bands to concert ensembles and color guard. have taught at various schools around the district including Thurman White MS, Western HS, Mack MS and Chaparral HS
Teaching Philosophy: Getting the student to fall in love with playing the flute is the key to success. It’s my job to find a way for the student to be successful at whatever task they have their mind set to. I can’t stress enough how important fundamentals are and how trivial they are to development and success in the long run. I hope to help them light a fire within themselves to help them stay engaged in their studies but then take that into their everyday lives.
