Teaching Philosophy: My goal for each student is to enjoy and create music by developing skills in listening, playing or vocal technic, reading music notation, and exploring various styles of music. Learning to play an istrument or sing with understanding is like learning a new language. Through dedication and hard work, you will build self confidence and strong relations with fellow musicians, develop avenues of self discovery and self expression, and be rewarded with a lifetime of musical enjoyment.
Get to know Lisa Cripe
Music has played an essential role throughout my life. I began piano and dance lessons at age 5, started singing in the church choir at age 10, and played French Horn in the school band throughout junior and senior high school. I went to college to study the art of piano teaching, and there developed a love for organ, choral, and symphonic music literature. Ever since, I have been teaching, singing, playing, accompanying, and directing or participating in vocal or handbell choirs, and volunteering for performing arts organizations on the side. Most recently I have been trained, certified, and licensed as a Musikgarten Early Childhood Music and Movement teacher.
