About Liz Gathright

Liz Cantu was born and raised in Monterrey, Mexico and began her musical journey at age 3. She began playing by ear and later learned to read music joining her first concert band in Mexico at 11 years old playing the clarinet. 

After moving to the U.S.A, she joined the middle school band and continued to play the clarinet all through high school. Liz began playing piano at her church when she was 13 years old.

Since then, she has continued to play the piano, guitar, bass, and woodwind instruments for different churches in Mexico, Kansas, North Carolina and Texas. 

Liz has played for church conferences and special events such as weddings and bridal showers for over 16 years. She has also played the saxophone and other woodwind instruments in Jazz Combos in Monterrey, Mexico and McPherson, Kansas. 

Liz began teaching private lessons at her studio in Monterrey, Mexico in 2008. While in Mexico, she also taught private lessons for piano, guitar, violin, woodwind and brass instruments at the Academia Musical Crescendo. 

She has continued teaching in Kansas, North Carolina, and Texas and has over 13 years of teaching experience.
