About Luca Le
Get to know Luca Le
Luca Le is a drummer and has been teaching the drums since 2013. He grew up in Burien and started playing the snare drum in 5th grade at the local Mt. View Elementary and continued to play in the school bands (symphonic, marching, pep) all the way to the end of high school. He was always one of the top percussionist/snare drummers throughout middle and high school (Evergreen). His first band he played the drum-set was in 9th grade; They played pop punk rock covers (Sum 41, Fallout Boy, Yellowcard) After graduating University of Washington, he travelled around and lived in Hanoi, Vietnam for 8 years and played the drums in numerous original and cover bands ranging from all sorts of styles: pop, rock, jazz, blues, reggae, r&b, folk. Some of the bands released EPs, some toured around Vietnam and some had residencies like at the Mariott beach to play jazz. “It was amazingly fun to be able to meet and play the drums with so many people from different countries and learn about their cultures. I think the best parts were when we were just speaking through music. It didn’t matter the language.” Luca first started teaching drums in 2013 to really young learners (ages 3-6) about basic rhythms and also parents on how to teach and play with their children rhythmically. He taught them that anything can be a drum and rhythms can be created on anything that makes a sound. After that, he’s continued to teach drums privately to all ages with an emphasis on song-based learning. While abroad he taught not only the drums but also English and found similarities like the reading/writing/listening/speaking aspect and has been implementing a musical version ever since as a means of creative learning. He understands everyone has different learning style(s) so he uses that to help guide students to become better drummers through fun, creative-based lessons. “Let’s get some rhythms going”
Luca is bilingual in English and Vietnamese, and teaches at the Burien location on Mondays & Thursdays!
