Luke Ashworth is a bassoonist hailing from Bristol, Connecticut, and is currently pursuing a Master's in Bassoon Performance at The Hartt School, where he perviously earned a Bachelor of Music in both Bassoon Performance and Music Education. Taught by the esteemed Marc Goldberg, Luke has worked to become a well-rounded musician and teacher in his field.
Luke's passion for music education drives him to explore innovative pedagogical approaches, always seeking to enhance his teaching abilities. Over the course of many years, he has had the privilege of instructing students of various ages, sharing his love for music and guiding them on their own musical journeys. Luke takes great care to ensure that his lessons align with his students' classroom curricula, providing a seamless and enriching learning experience.
Throughout his musical journey, Luke has had the opportunity to collaborate with renowned orchestras and ensembles in the region. Notably, he has performed alongside esteemed groups such as the Nutmeg Symphony Orchestra and Hartford Symphony Orchestra. Luke has also had the pleasure to be a part of several NAXOS recordings through the Hartt Wind Ensemble.
Beyond his performance and teaching endeavors, Luke nurtures a profound passion for music history. Holding a minor in musicology, he has extensive research and knowledge of French impressionistic and late romantic music, especially the works of Camille Saint-Saëns and Gabriel Fauré. Luke's exploration of music history enriches his interpretations and performances, adhering to critical performance practice techniques in order to create a more authentic interpretation.
