Get to know Luke Ashworth
A current student under Marc Goldberg, Luke Ashworth is an excelling bassoonist based in Bristol, Connecticut. Studying for his Bachelor of Music at the Hartt School for Bassoon Performance and Music Education, Luke is always on the cutting edge of music pedagogy and teaching techniques used by experts in the field. Over the past decade, Luke has performed with many renowned local orchestras and ensembles across the region, including but not limited to; Nutmeg Symphony Orchestra, Greater Hartford Youth Wind Ensemble, and the Connecticut Music Educator Association 2019 All-State Band.
Besides performing, Luke is a skilled teacher with over 5 years of lesson experience under his belt. Starting in his early high school days, Luke has had the privilege of teaching a variety of wind instruments to students ranging in age from 6 to 55. Having just completed one of two student-teacher partnerships in Southington Public Schools, Luke is also very cognizant and accommodating to curricula students are learning in the classroom.
In addition to education, Luke is an avid lover and follower of music history and is working towards his music history minor while at Hartt. A proclaimed Saint-Saëns scholar, Luke has a specialized interest in French impressionistic and late romantic music.
