About Luke Turner

Luke Turner is a passionate and experienced guitarist dedicated to sharing the joy of music through teaching and performing. Based in Huntington, WV, Luke brings hands-on experience as both a performer and instructor to his role at Music & Arts.

A graduate of Marshall University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Jazz Studies, Luke's musical foundation is rooted in jazz, but his influences extend far beyond. From the soulful expression of blues to the timeless energy of classic rock, Luke’s diverse repertoire allows him to connect with students of all musical tastes and inspire them to explore their unique styles.

Luke's musical journey includes performing with renowned artists such as trumpeter, composer, and producer Rick Braun and contributing to the Marshall University Artist Series, including a live score performance alongside the film Rocketman at the Keith Albee Performing Arts Center.

His professional performance portfolio spans a variety of venues and styles. From theatrical productions with the Mountain Movers Theatre Company to swinging with Marshall University's Jazz I ensemble, Luke has honed his ability to adapt to diverse musical settings.

When he's not teaching or performing, Luke enjoys composing original music, exploring new genres, and collaborating with fellow musicians to create new musical experiences.
