      Teaching Philosophy: Lydia believes that playing music helps students to express themselves, and enhances their mental skills as well as their self esteem. She creates a stress free learning environment, and she also teaches adaptive piano lessons to students with mental disabilities.

      Get to know Lydia Bolmer

      Lydia has a Bachelor of Arts in music from UNCG and a degree in music education with a focus on piano from the Franz Schubert Conservatory in Vienna, Austria.

      After having taught for over twenty years, Lydia believes that playing music helps students to express themselves, and enhances their mental skills and self-esteem. Lydia performed for twenty years as a church pianist and organist. She also played for the School of dance at the North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston Salem, for the dance department at the Virginia School of the Arts in Lynchburg, and for the dance department at UNCG. Her repertoire consists of a large variety of classical music, hymn arrangements, and popular music. She enjoys sharing her love for music with her students, and creates a stress free learning environment. Lydia also teaches adaptive piano lessons to students with mental disabilities or learning disabilities.
