About Lynda Waddick

Greetings!  My name is Lynda Lynda Waddick and I am one of the piano teachers at this store.  I began learning piano at age 5 and I have taught private piano lessons at various studios in the Milwaukee, Libertyville (IL) and Des Plaines (IL) area for over 30 years.  Two years ago, I moved back to my hometown of Brookfield and began teaching with Music & Arts.  I absolutely loves teaching and I enjoy working with beginning - intermediate students of all ages to guide them as they learn the fundamentals and technical skills while having fun!

As a supporter of life learning, I work to motivate and challenge my students to learn and develop the skills that lead to a love of playing music.  Growing up, I studied piano, organ, flute and guitar with a variety of teachers in the Milwaukee area and I earned my B.S. and M.A. degrees from Marquette University.  Over the years, I have combined my musical knowledge with the skill of teaching and presenting the concepts.  I also spent 15 years in the field of education as a corporate trainer so I excel at breaking down the theory, preparing the material and coaching my students. 

I use an interdisciplinary approach and tailor the music studied to fit the student’s interest and progress.  A variety of method books, supplemental solos, style books, and popular music are used to anchor the learning.  I love to build a long-term relationship with my students and the process is truly “customized” so that each person gets a solid understanding and proficiency before additional concepts are added.   If there is a spot on my busy schedule, I would love to work with you!
