About Maddy

Maddy Smith is a violin player and music educator from Audubon, Pennsylvania. She graduated with honors from the University of Central Florida in 2021, where she studied music education with an emphasis on string pedagogy. Maddy led the University of Central Florida Chamber and Symphony orchestras as concertmaster and spent many hours teaching after-school violin classes with a music education non-profit in Orlando. These days, Maddy teaches general music at a local Quaker elementary school and plays old-time fiddle and banjo with the Phoenixville-based string band, The Station Mashers. Maddy strives to help her students play with healthy technique and beautiful sound while finding the music that speaks to them in order to create competent and joyful lifelong musicians.
