Education: She graduated with honors from the University of Central Florida in 2021, where she studied music education with an emphasis on string pedagogy.
Performance Experience: Ms. Smith led the University of Central Florida Chamber and Symphony orchestras as concertmaster and spent many hours teaching after-school violin classes with a music education non-profit in Orlando. These days, Maddy teaches general music at a local Quaker elementary school and plays old-time fiddle and banjo with the Phoenixville-based string band, The Station Mashers.
Teaching Experience: Ms. Smith studied music education with an emphasis on string pedagogy. In Central Florida, she spent many hours teaching after-school violin classes with a music education non-profit in Orlando. These days, Maddy teaches general music at a local Quaker elementary school.
Teaching Philosophy: Maddy strives to help her students play with healthy technique and beautiful sound while finding the music that speaks to them in order to create competent and joyful lifelong musicians.
