Get to know Matt Dutczak
Matthew Dutczak is a bassoonist, reed maker, conductor, and educator. Currently a student at the University of Arizona, Matthew is the Graduate Teaching Assistant for the Bassoon Studio as well as the Manager of the Fred Fox Graduate Wind Quintet, and internationally known ensemble. While studying at the University of Arizona, he held the position of principle bassoon of the Wind Ensemble and Auxiliary bassoon/contrabassoon of the Arizona Symphony Orchestra. Matthew has over 15 years of experience with Woodwind Instruments.
He has performed with the University of Illinois Wind Ensemble, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) Wind Ensemble, UWM Symphony Orchestra, University of Arizona Wind Ensemble, Arizona Symphony Orchestra, White Mountain Symphony Orchestra, and Classical Symphony Orchestra. Matthew has taught masterclasses with the University of Illinois Honor band, UWAY, and reed making masterclasses.
Matthew was the 2022 White Mountain Symphony Orchestra Solo Competition winner and has also performed at the national level with the Marian Catholic High School Marching Band.
