About Matthew Gooding

Matt Gooding is a violin and viola teacher who works with students of all levels, helping them build both strong musicianship and a deeper understanding of music. His lessons combine education, technique, music theory, and musical interpretation while encouraging students to understand not just what they are playing, but why they are playing it that way. Although classically trained, Matt teaches a wide variety of musical styles and personalizes lessons to each student’s goals, whether preparing for recitals, auditions, school music, or personal growth. He believes success looks different for every student and strives to help each one reach their fullest potential in a supportive and flexible environment. Matt studied Music Education and Violin Performance at Shenandoah Conservatory and earned a master’s degree in Music Education from Temple University, with over 10 years of teaching experience.
