About Melanie Valone
Get to know Melanie Valone
My name is Melanie Valone, and I have been playing clarinet since 2009. I grew up in a musical family, hearing my dad play guitar and enjoying the same music that my parents would listen to. My personal music journey started when I followed in my mom and sister’s footsteps with learning clarinet in 6th grade band. In high school and college, I sat in principal chairs of all-district and all-state bands, wind ensembles, and symphony orchestras, and I began to teach clarinet lessons to students at local schools. I graduated from WKU in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in Instrumental Music Education, and I have been teaching elementary music and served as a woodwind director in Simpson and Allen County School Districts for the last 5 years. I am excited to be working at Music & Arts and help lead clarinetists to becoming better musicians and developing a passion for music!
