About Mike Caruso

Mike Caruso is a guitar, bass, drums, and saxophone teacher who works with beginner to advanced students and also coaches rock bands. His lessons focus on teaching musical concepts through real songs, combining technique, rhythm, improvisation, and music theory in a fun, engaging environment. Mike specializes in rock, blues, country, and jazz, encouraging students to learn the music they enjoy while understanding the theory behind it. He believes playing alongside students builds confidence, strengthens rhythm, and makes learning more enjoyable. Whether helping students perform individually or develop as part of a band, Mike tailors lessons to each student’s goals and interests. With over 30 years of teaching experience, he has performed extensively as a local musician, including an appearance at the John Coltrane Festival.
