      Teaching Philosophy: My goal is to make learning guitar fun! I teach the basics to beginners and more advanced approaches to intermediate and advanced players, but I like to apply these basics and techniques to learning songs you know and love. Nobody likes to practice something they don't enjoy! Eventually, I want my students to be at a level where they no longer "need" me, because they have become capable players with a thorough knowledge and skill level.

      Get to know Michael Mullis

      My name is Mike Mullis. I have been a professional musician for 35 years. Throughout that time, my band toured throughout the Southeast and opened shows for Kenny Chesney, Martina McBride, Travis Tritt and many more. I was also fortunate to tour the U.S. with a two-time Grammy winning artist in 2006. I attended Kennesaw University and have an undergraduate degree in Psychology, and in 1999, I earned a Certificate of Performance from The Atlanta Institute of Music.
       
      My playing styles are varied. My main style of playing is Country / Classic Rock, but I have also played in Punk, Hip-Hop, and Jazz Fusion settings. I currently work in the music business industry as I have for the last 21 years. I still play live shows with my band, write songs and record in my home studio. I enjoy teaching because it gives me a chance to pass on the things I have learned from so many of my teachers and mentors.
