About Mike Hinton

Mike Hinton is a drum teacher who works with beginner to advanced students, helping them develop strong technique, musicianship, and confidence behind the kit. His lessons combine challenging exercises with enjoyable music while exploring drum set styles, rudimental playing, improvisation, reading, and sight-reading. Mike encourages each student to discover their individual feel, flow, attitude, and musical voice while reaching beyond what they thought possible. Whether preparing for recitals, auditions, school programs, performances, or simply playing for fun, students receive personalized guidance. Mike studied at Berklee College of Music and the Stanford Jazz Workshop and brings extensive international performance and teaching experience.
