Get to know Nancy Pitkin
Nancy has enjoyed playing piano and singing for most of her life. She began piano lessons when she was 10, and later, when she entered college as a student in music education, she began playing for musicals, singing, and composing her own music. Since that time she has taught in both public and private schools, performed in Nashville, TN and played in various bands/duos. Nancy has also performed as a soloist for many organizations including churches, universities, retirement communities, and for private events. She believes that music holds the key to happiness for many people and is a way to keep positive in a stressful world. She is eager to share her gifts with students, and help them find personal expression in their musical journey.
Worked for several publishers in Nashville. Have performed original music in churches in Nashville, Winston- Salem, Greensboro, and across the East Coast, London, and Edmonton, Alberta Canada. In Winston-Salem, for the Reynolda House Museum program with Oscar Hammerstein III, for Hospice in Greensboro, and recently in Cary at the historic Paige Walker Hotel.
