Get to know Nancy Sirivanakarn
Nancy Sirivanakarn, a native of Arlington, Virginia, began playing violin at the age of 9. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in musicology from Oberlin College-Conservatory and a Master of Music degree in violin performance from Shenandoah University. After graduation, Nancy taught violin and general music at St. Stephen’s International School in Bangkok, Thailand. Nancy served as concertmaster of the Keweenaw Symphony and artistic director of the Copper Country Suzuki Association in Houghton, Michigan. She has also performed in orchestras in the northern Virginia, Syracuse, New York and Altoona, Pennsylvania areas. Nancy has taught violin and viola in Music and Arts stores in the Northern Virginia and Syracuse area and is happy to continue her violin teaching at Music and Arts in Columbus, Ohio. She teaches both traditional and Suzuki violin, and is certified through Suzuki book 2.
