Teaching Philosophy:
Music education is essential in a high-stakes testing era because it develops critical thinking, creativity, and informed arts participation through authentic music literacy. Instruction parallels language learning, emphasizing fluency, accuracy, comprehension, and growing musical vocabulary via performance, reading, and writing. Students connect music to core curricula by tracking, predicting, recognizing patterns, and creating performances that express the self while following structure.
