Currently pursuing a Bachelor's in music.
Performance Experience:
Played with various bands in many different venues: bars, weddings, parades, etc. Two of my bands have held residencies at bars in the Deep Ellum area.
Teaching Experience:
While I have informally taught lessons over the years, I officially began providing private lessons in 2026.
Teaching Philosophy:
Every student learns differently and has different goals - my job is to figure out the two and put you on the path to success.

Get to know Nicholas Mchenry
My music journey started seven years ago under the teaching of a gospel drummer. So far, I have played in five different bands and gigged all over the DFW metroplex. One of my bands just finished our first studio recorded full length album. I play a variety of genres: jazz, latin, blues, and pop to name a few; but my roots are in rock music. I also read sheet music proficiently. Besides how to actually play the drums, I can teach you everything you need to know about playing in front of an audience and recording in a studio.
