      Get to know Nico Laget

My passion for music has led to a beautiful 25-year multi-faceted career as an award-wining instrumentalist, music producer, film score composer and recording and mixing engineer.  I believe educating future generations of musicians is a duty.

As a flutist and saxophonist, I have performed with many original bands in a variety of genres and across the world, including at the Blue Note (NYC), the Howard Theater (DC), The Birchmere (VA), Blues Alley (DC), Jamin’ Java (VA), The Kennedy Center (DC), the Black Cat (DC), The Lincoln Theater (DC), in Tokyo, Niigata and Kyoto (Japan), London (UK), Singapore, Miami, and Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia).  I have also performed for a decade in agency bands providing musical entertainment at weddings, bar/bat-mitzvah, etc… across the D.C. metropolitan area.

I hold a masters degree in composition from the University of Virginia, I am a voting member of the Recording Academy (the Grammys) and sat on the board of its Washington D.C. chapter for 4 years.  I am the lead engineer and producer at the Sweet Spot Studio in Annandale.  You can find my original music under the name Nicolas Laget on all streaming platforms.

I look forward to sharing my knowledge and experience with you!
