Get to know Patrick Decarlis
My name is Patrick Decarlis. I am originally from upstate NY but have spent most of my adult life in Florida. I am new to the Dallas area.
My love and affection for music was instilled in me from a very young age. I come from a very musically talented family and had many mentors, including my grandfather, father, brother and two sisters. My brother still plays in a well known local jazz band, just like my grandfather did long ago. Even though musical ability didn't come naturally for me, I worked hard at it simply because of my love of music.
I practice flat picking and finger picking on my cherished Martin 00016c acoustic guitar. I like to jam and play lead on slow blues with my Gibson Les Paul Standard. Playing at family gatherings or at friend gatherings are also fun. I love to sing as well as write and record songs. I have self produced two CD's with original and cover songs. Playing guitar and making music is one of the most rewarding things I do. My desire is to teach others to explore their musical talents and most of all to have fun.
